EU REACH - PRE-REGISTRATION DEADLINE/ONLY REPRESENTATIVE ASSOCIATION LAUNCHED

The Pre-Registration deadline is set for midnight 30 November 2008 and it is understood that this deadline is unlikely to be extended.  It is vitally important that companies pre-register with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) otherwise they will either have to stop importing substances into the EU or will have to carry out full registration of substances with immediate effect.

To help non-EU manufacturers, nine companies have joined together to officially launch a professional industry association - the Only Representative Organisation (ORO).  The association aims to set standards and provide a voice for this sector of industry as REACH legislation is interpreted and implemented.  It will hold its first general assembly on 9 December 2008.

For further information, please go to the Association's website:- http://www.onlyrepresentatives.org/
